Mild & Fruity Girls set sail for Olympics

by Mercieca PR 19 Mar 2004 12:34 GMT

Mild & Fruity dairy drink is delighted to announce its sponsorship of Olympic hopefuls Christina Bassadone and Katharine Hopson in their attempt to win gold in the 470 dinghy class at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

This is Mild & Fruity’s first sponsorship link up, and will impact directly on the levels of preparation and training the girls can now undertake in their quest to win Olympic Gold this summer.

The 21-year olds are both students at Southampton University and have already been selected to join Team GBR in Athens. Comments Christina Bassadone: “We are over the moon with the level of support Mild & Fruity are offering us as it means we can concentrate on what’s important – sailing! Mild & Fruity is the perfect fit for us not only with its encouragement of getting people to understand the nutritional value of milk and the importance of a healthier lifestyle but also because it’s going to be great fun out in Athens being known as the ‘Mild & Fruity girls’!”

Campina UK Managing Director, John Lee says: “Mild & Fruity is thrilled to be associated with Christina and Katherine. As Team Bassadone-Hopson, the girls have grown to become a force to be reckoned with in British sailing. At Campina we are fully committed to supporting the girls and are continually impressed by their determination and commitment to achieving the best possible result at the 2004 Olympics.”
