Brits to the fore

Ed Wright is 10 points clear at the top of the Finn Gold Cup at San Francisco with fellow Brit Giles Scott in third. After their black flag disqualification in race one, Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell have produced a perfect display at the 470 Europeans in Instanbul. Defending champion Paul Goodison is in second at the Laser worlds at Hayling. Ian Williams and Ben Ainslie are also lying 1st and 2nd respectively at the St. Moritz Match Race.

The Volvo 70 Groupama has smashed the course record in the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland race. She finished the race in 5 days 21 hours 26 minutes, over 14 hours quicker than the previous record.

Fred Eaton and Magnus Clarke have successfully defended the International C-Class Catamaran Trophy, unofficially known as the 'Little America's Cup'.

Ireland claimed a comprehensive victory in a blustery finale to the Rolex Commodores' Cup finale. There was disappointment for RYA Team GBR Red as Quokka 8 broke their mast in the final race.
